A Family's Unspoken Love - Part 4

Upon entering the room, she swiftly closed the door behind her. Leaning against the door, she slowly sank to the floor, her tears flowing freely.

As she reflected on the absence of someone to love and protect her, tears welled up in her eyes.

Gayatri hurriedly entered the room and sat beside Krishna. "Father," she called out.

Krishna, in an angry and stern voice, questioned, "Did you go to her room?"

Startled, Gayatri looked at her father. "No, Dad," she replied hesitantly.

"Dad, she's lying. She's just saying this out of jealousy towards me. I didn't do anything like that," Hari interjected.

"Yes, Mama, everything she said is untrue. You've seen us grow up together since childhood. We wouldn't do anything wrong," Achu added sorrowfully, concealing the deception in his eyes.

"Yes, brother, don't we know our children? I'm sorry she didn't receive a good scolding," Revathi chimed in angrily.

"Didn't you arrange my marriage before hers? She's just upset about that," Gayatri lamented.

"I won't let her tarnish my daughter's reputation," Ragini declared resolutely.

"Is everyone in agreement?" Krishna asked, and silence fell.

"As soon as possible, Deepti's wedding should take place. Afterward, they can get married. Isn't that sufficient, Giri?" Krishna inquired.

"My brother-in-law is right. It wouldn't be appropriate to marry the younger one while the elder one remains unmarried," Giri replied.

"I agree. I don't believe she should be considering marriage right now," Ragini stated firmly.

Ragini was determined to ensure that Deepti could use the gold and money for her own happiness and future.

"Yes, brother, my sister is right," Revathi supported Ragini.

"And what about you? Did you hear everything she said? Didn't my Gayatri upset my daughter... She no longer wants to stay in this house. If I marry her off and send her away, my daughter can find peace," Krishna said, embracing Gayatri.

No one had any further objections.

However, Ragini had her own plans, her mind brimming with calculated schemes.

Exhausted, she fell asleep, unaware of the impending dangers that would soon threaten her.

As usual, she prepared everything and headed to college, watching Deepti's life take a tumultuous turn.

"Your life is about to become difficult now, Deepti. You made my daughter cry. Prepare for even greater sorrows, with no one to lean on," Ragini thought to herself, smiling mysteriously as she watched Deepti leave.

Hari and Achu stood waiting for Deepti at the college gate. When they saw her, she greeted them with a smile, hiding her inner turmoil.

"Have you learned your lesson?" Achu asked.

"Of course," she replied, smiling.

"Why do you look a bit off? Is something bothering you?" Harry inquired, eyeing her with suspicion.

"Oh, it's just a slight headache," Deepti explained.

"Is your aunt the cause of this headache?" Harry asked, a note of suspicion in his voice.

"It's just a normal headache, nothing more," Deepti replied, avoiding his gaze.

"Do you want to go to the hospital?" Hari offered.

"No, I've taken some medicine. Let's head to class," she said, leading the way.

"Is something amiss with her?" Hari asked Achu.

"Yeah, I sensed it too. Anyway, can't the exams be over soon?" Achu replied.

"Tell her when you're taking the exam. She didn't learn anything."

"I understand. Don't you want her to escape that house with me?"

"Then focus on your studies and do well in the exams. You can take her with you only if you secure a good job," Hari advised with a smile.

Harry looked at him, his own smile returning. "Let's work on that. You go write your exam," he said.

"Alright," Achu replied as he headed off. Deepti had already walked in the direction she had gone.
